Replacing your old phone with a new one sounds like fun, right? But those who have done it before know that transferring data and getting used to a new device can be a bit frustrating. If SamsungIf you're swapping your Xiaomi, Huawei or other Android phone for an Apple smartphone, you might be wondering, how to transfer data from Android to iPhone? In fact, it can be even simpler than you imagine. Let's take a look at how it all works.

Prepare your phones for data migration

Before you start transferring any valuable information, you need to make sure that both devices are ready for the data transfer.

  1. Although not usually necessary, it is advisable to update the operating systems of both phones to the latest versions. This will minimise the chances of any discrepancies.
  2. It is important that both devices have a sufficiently charged battery. The charge must be sufficient for the duration of the data transfer.
  3. Install the Move to iOS app on Android phones from the Google Play Store. It's free and it's an official solution released by Apple.
  4. Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

If you have ticked all of these points, you can move on.

Start the data transfer

Now that everything is ready and the Move to iOS app is saved, you can move on to the actual data transfer. We'll take you through the steps one by one to help you find solutions:

  1. Switch on and start configuring your new iPhoneuntil you reach the Apps & Data screen. Then select "Move Data from Android".
  2. Take your Android phone and open the Move to iOS app. Please read the information and accept the terms and conditions.
  3. A 6-10 digit code will be displayed on your iPhone screen. Enter this code on your Android phone with the Move to iOS app open.
  4. Once the code is entered, the phones will communicate with each other, o On your Android phone, you'll be prompted to select the data you want to transfer to iPhone.
  5. Select the items you want to move (contacts, message history, photos, videos, web bookmarks, apps and more). Then click "Next".
  6. The transfer process can take time, depending on the amount of data. When it's finished, click Done on your Android phone.
  7. Follow the remaining steps on your iPhone to complete the setup. Your data transfer from Samsung or other Android devices is complete!
